New Zealand Prime Minister Shipley Jeanne to working visit to china on July 18-20,1999. The main purpose of her trip is to discuss with the Chinese leaders on issues related to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in New Zealand in September. Chinese President Jiang Zemin will attend the meeting.

On Oct.9,1997, New Zealand and China jointly issued with the Chinese rose and New Zealand rose "flower" stamps, so that the country has become eighth country as joint issue of stamps. In order to request the signature of the prime minister Shipley, on the second day after her visit to China,(July 20,1999) I mailed out a postcards sticked the "flower" stamps to her.

On August 12,1999. I received a letter from the New Zealand Prime Minister's office. Return back to the postcard autographed prime minister Shipley, there also is a photo of Premier Shipley. It is two pieces of her handwritten text on the postcard and photo that give me a deep impression. (See the postcard and photo). This is unique in the reply of more than 30 pieces of foreign heads of state
