In 2000, at the request of the United Nations, China also has sent a few batch of civil peacekeeping police. They are away from home in the motherland of peace time , went to the filled with smoke for guns and the scent of blood in a foreign land. Work is full of danger, very difficult life. away from home. Under this kind of ordinary people unbearable environment, It caught my attention that a reports of a female police officer , she is 33 year old Ran Wang . (see figure below, are selected
The title: "I am a peacekeeping police in East Timor" (from the 2001.3.28. Nanjing daily)
Above: The title: "I am a peacekeeping police in East Timor" (from the 2001.3.28. Nanjing daily)
In order to record the things related to the founding of East Timor, I hope to get her signature. Thanks to the lessons of the previous time,I marked the words "suggest to transit through Australia!" and "If undelivered please return to sender" in the postcard. I mailed the postcard on April 1, 2001. This time, the lucky god finally gave me the green light. I successfully received a reply letter with my postcard autographed by Ran Wang.
written on a white label on the back of an envelope: " FROM WANG RAN CP1916 NATIONAL INVESTIGATION UNIT, CIVPOL HQ UNTAET P.O.BOX 2436 DARWIN, NT 0801 AUSTRALIA".

written on a white label on the back of an envelope: " FROM WANG RAN CP1916 NATIONAL INVESTIGATION UNIT, CIVPOL HQ UNTAET P.O.BOX 2436 DARWIN, NT 0801 AUSTRALIA". It again confirmed when all East Timor's mail is transmitted through Darwin Australia.
This little postcard, recorded a ordinary and extraordinary history. China sent a total of five batches of 113 civilian police and civil officers to East Timor until April 2002, 8 of whom are female police. History will remember them (their) achievements.

On April 17, 2002. East Timor popular election official announced, Gusmao was elected as the first president of the Democratic Republic of East Timor in 82.69% of the absolute advantage. The Associated Press described him "to complete the evolution from a poet into the guerrilla commander, and then politicians." China major newspapers and television stations reported the news quickly. (See here CCTV video
Gusmao was elected as the first president of the Democratic Republic of East Timor in 82.69% of the absolute advantage.
On May 20, 2002, East Timor announced the founding of the state and Gusmao officially became president. My friend Yongge Zhao, in order to commemorate this important day, produce a postcard for me in his busy schedule, ane mail it on May 22, 2002 from Dili. I have successfully received this precious postcard.
it using the stamp issued by United Nations only for a state, and there is the despatch postmark with 20020522.
The back is graduation ceremony of Dili Police College in August 2001.
This is a very important philatelic item. It records the history of East Timor's general election and the history of UNTAET officers participation and supervision of the process: (1) his mailing date is May 22, 2002. Because May.20. is the official founding of East Timor and Gusmao officially became president of the day. The next day is Sunday, Dili post office does not work. (2) it using the stamp issued by United Nations only for a state, and there is the despatch postmark with 20020522. (3) Its text and photographs displaying Gusmao and another presidential candidate Mr. Franciso Xavier do Amaral , as well as Mr. Zhao himself and person in charge of UNTAET Mr. Sergio Vieira De Mello ( he was killed in Iraq in 2003) (Note: The photos was taken by Mr. Yongge Zhao personally photographed as Dili Municipal Election Liaison Officer). (4) It uses UNTAET issued a postcard. The back is graduation ceremony of Dili Police College in August 2001. Because of these characteristics, I believe it is one of the most unique and valuable mailed postcard, especially for East Timor and United Nations.
